Abahani dominated the first half, where Sunday scored twice in the ninth and 33rd minutes of the match. Jewel Rana scored the third goal for Abahani in the 36th minute. However, their efforts were in vain, as Sunday completed his treble in stoppage time and gave Abahani a comprehensive win. With this victory, Abahani now sit in second place in the points table with 39 points from 16 matches, while Bashundhara Kings lead the table with 43 points.
