The majority of work at Christchurch's Deans Head will be completed by Christmas, with more shipping containers protecting the road in the area to be removed in early 2017. The $4 million project includes a 300-metre long bund placed 9m to 11m above the roadside at Shag Rock Reserve. About 50,000 cubic metres of soil and rock have been moved from Deans Head to the reserve so far. "That's not all the containers, that's just the group of containers across this piece here [Shag Rock Reserve]."
