If you’re in the Bronx, head to the New York Botanical Garden for the whimsical Yayoi Kusama instillation, which is set up throughout the 250-acre space. On Wednesdays, the garden even offers free tickets to New York City residents that include access to all of the gardens and the outdoor instillations. I like the fish tacos at Tacoway Beach, but there are plenty of other options to choose from. On Staten Island, the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden will be throwing a big Memorial Day barbecue on Saturday. If you’re not looking to eat, the grounds and gardens are always free.
