The suspension is part of a message to all its officers that they are incharge of security of troops under them.Speaking exclusively to TOI, Director General of CRPF - Rajeev R Bhatnagar said, "We felt that there was lack of leadership on his part. He could have used the resources in different manner in countering the Maoists' attack. It was only one party which came under attack and could not respond. We are relooking at our SOPs and doctrines, and most importantly, we are making sure that the SOPs are implemented on the ground. The officers have to make sure of safety of men under his command".
