Australia's east coast has been battered by a severe storm as the country prepares to suffer through 41C temperatures which are forecast over the weekend. Melbourne will only reach a maximum temperature of 21C on Friday with possible showers before dropping to 20C on Saturday. Like the east coast, Adelaide on the south coast will also experience some sweltering temperatures over the weekend. Unlike the east coast, Hobart will experience relatively cold and wet weather over the weekend. The Tasmanian capital will have a maximum temperature of 22C on Friday with showers developing in the afternoon and evening.
