In fact, no man on any team had parlayed a cycle and a six-hit game since Ian Kinsler did it for the Texas Rangers in 2009. Yelich has taken over the league batting lead with a .319 average, thanks primarily to recent slumps by Atlanta’s Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis, who shared this year’s All-Star roster with Yelich. His was the third six-hit game in the majors this year and only the second cycle (after Boston’s Mookie Betts).
