borkenaDecember 10,2018Sudanese Gedaref State head and some senior military officers are killed as a military helicopter they were on board crashed yesterday near the Ethio-Sudanese border, reported Amahara Mass Media Agency (AMMA) today. The chopper came down in Galabat, which is within Gedaref regional state of Sudan, but close to the Ethiopian border. Ashorooq TV, as cited by Sudan Tribune, reported that Director of the National Intelligence and Security Services in Gedaref and director of information at the governor’s office are among the survivors. Sudanese military aircraft mostly consist of “old Soviet-made aircraft,” according to Sudan Tribune. Amahara regional state officials expressed condolences over the tragic accident, according to AMMA report today.
