In a statement issued by Sudan's Foreign Ministry, Sudan "decided on Thursday to recall Sudan ambassador to Cairo Abdel-Mahmood Abdel Halim to Khartoum for consultation.”The Egyptian Embassy has been officially notified on Wednesday, and is now assessing the stance to take the right procedure, commented the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in a statement. Sudan has accused Cairo of political meddling and banned imports of Egyptian agricultural products last year. Cairo denied the claims circulating on Ethiopian news media that Egypt requested the exclusion of Sudan from negotiations on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, adding that during Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry’s visit to Ethiopia, Egypt submitted a proposal requesting introducing the World Bank as a neutral mediator in negotiations.
