A 4WD is still submerged and flowers have been left a bridge on Double Corner Rd, Amberley, North Canterbury on Monday as the local community mourns. Flowers have been left at the site of a fatal accident in North Canterbury, which claimed the life of a 7-year-old child. The primary school aged child died after the vehicle they were in flipped in the Waipara River, from Double Corner Rd, near Amberley at around 5.35pm on Sunday. One neighbour who lives close to the crash scene recalled hearing a helicopter on Sunday evening, but others weren’t aware of the police response. The four-wheel drive vehicle remained upside down in the river on Monday afternoon, however a scene guard was no longer in place.
