The ministry is confident that the successful implementation of the VAT Law will be a success for both the government and the Egyptian Tax Authority workers, Al-Mounayer said, noting that it will be a step towards achieving development and social justice. He added that work is underway for the establishment of a healthcare fund for Real Estate Tax Authority workers. The deputy minister added that promotions were frozen for three years but there will not be any more delays. The finance minister’s adviser for engineering affairs has almost completed the comprehensive survey of the conditions in the tax authority headquarters, in order to prepare a comprehensive development and maintenance plan. He concluded that time is needed in order to reach an effective and comprehensive system, adding that the fastest and easiest way in the past was to implement partial reforms that have been tested for many years but without any success.
