Kindergarteners are among others who will be eligible for a continuing grant of HK$2,500 from the new school year. Needy students will continue to get a HK$2,500 annual grant from the new school year, the Education Bureau said in a statement. The bureau said today, the cash will be available for secondary day-school, primary school and kindergarten students to help ease the parents' financial burden. It is also available to special schools, including public sector schools, Direct Subsidy Scheme schools, English Schools Foundation schools and private schools, as well as kindergartens. But the subsidy is not available for students of evening schools, students of private studies, holders of student visas for entry into Hong Kong for studies and holders of the Form of Recognizance issued by the Immigration Department.
