In a blow to middle-class, the price of subsidised cylinder has been hiked by Rs 7 on Friday. Now, a subsidised 14.2-kg cylinder in Delhi will cost around Rs 487.18. The new price for the subsidised 14.2 kg cylinder in Bengaluru will be Rs 485.50. Oil and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had asked oil companies to raise the price of LPG by Rs 4 every month to remove all subsidies by next March. Meanwhile, in different parts of the country, the opposition party, Congress protested against the price hike and inflation.
