KUALA LUMPUR: MIC has accepted Datuk S. Sothinathan (pix) as the newest member of the party's central working committee (CWC), sending a message of reconciliation after years of internal conflict. Dr Subramaniam said Sothinathan's appointment is a first step to strengthen the party and unite members. "There will be some initial difficulties but we need to address them and move ahead," he said after chairing a CWC meeting Sunday. Sothinathan was rumoured to have attended the CWC meeting, his first time since rejoining the party on Nov 5 last year. The Bill, brought by PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, is slated to be debated in Parliament next month.
