According to a text message sent out to subscribers by the company, the fluctuations in data services was as a result of an undersea submarine fiber cut. "Y'ello MTN sincerely apologizes for the disruptions you are experiencing with our data services and international outbound calls. This is a result of a submarine fiber cut. The disruptions, however, were met by numerous complaints on social media by subscribers of the services provider about their inability to undertake transactions and access the internet.
