It was owned by the late Arthur Walmsley from 1950 to 1975 and he used the cupboard under the stairs to store paperwork. I think that after they left someone bolted up the door to the room under the stairs and left it. Everything in the room is dated from the 1970s but there are some items that are dated from the 1940s.
