But how can you balance adding more costs without capsizing your financial life and causing even more stress? The question, could spending more to essentially reclaim that time by hiring help to clean, shop and cook lead to greater happiness? Yet, as can be the case, other researchers have examined the corrosive effect of financial stress, something most of us have probably experienced at some point for ourselves. Clearly, the buying time argument is not a free pass to blow up your financial life in a way that would lead to debt or spending strain. The trick is to be deeply aware of the time cost of anything, not the abstraction of dollar cost.
