BENTON, Ky. — Students returned Friday to the Kentucky high school where a classmate went on a shooting rampage, killing two teenagers and injuring multiple others in an attack that shook this rural community to its core. The first school day at Marshall County High School since the attack Tuesday began with an assembly in the gymnasium. The school district notified parents in an email that school would be in session, WPSD-TV reported. The school reopened after Kentucky State Police said they had finished processing the scene at the school. Michael Carneal was 14 in 1997 when he killed three students and injured five at Heath High School in Paducah, not far from Marshall County.
