Students favor professional athlete career, poll showsStaff writer, with CNAA career in sports topped the list for elementary school students in a survey conducted by the Mandarin Daily News, with e-sports and social media influencer next in line, while teaching was among the 10 least popular choices. The top 10 favored professions were professional athlete, e-sports, online influencer, doctor, baker or pastry chef, software programmer, painter, singer, computer engineer and stylist, the survey showed. Career preferences among junior-high students were similar to the elementary student list, with a few exceptions. The survey was conducted online from March 5 to 25, garnering 1,582 valid respondents from 1,286 elementary students and 296 junior-high students. The results were published on the Mandarin Daily News’ Web site, which also presented rankings of children’s favorite and least-liked professions, without providing exact percentages.
