He disclosed that UDEF supports to foreign students include teaching the Turkish language, counseling, arranging accommodations, and the provision of health services. International Students Day not only gets people acquainted with cultures that may be different from theirs, but also allows for international students to get involved with their own cultures while away from home. Turkey currently hosts around 120,000 university students from more than 150 countries, compared to 2004, when there were only 10,000 international students studying in Turkey. There are predictions that the number of foreign students could easily increase to 300,000 by the end of 2023. There are also calls for government to provide more opportunities to foreign students, underlining the importance of establishing a fully authorized institution to deal with all international students.
