An 18-year-old student was rushed to hospital following a stabbing outside a Scarborough alternative school Thursday morning. Police blocked off access to a walkway over train tracks behind a Toronto school, the Scarborough Centre for Alternative Studies, on Midland avenue where a man was stabbed. A representative from the TDSB initially said the victim was stabbed on school property, but SCAS principal Kathy Evans said the attack took place near train tracks behind the school. Students streamed out of the Scarborough Centre for Alternative Studies following the second hold-and-secure to strike the school in the last few weeks, with some saying they felt “accustomed” to Thursday morning’s violence. There wasn’t an immediate sense of distress from students hearing their peer had been seriously stabbed close to campus.
