Student sleepout raises over €300,000The Belvedere College sleepout in Dublin has raised over €300,000 for Focus Ireland and the Jesuit Refugee Services. Over 160 Dublin secondary students marked the 40th annual anniversary of the charity event by sleeping out over a two-night period. The college said the lack of affordable housing, excessive rent prices, and an unprecedented influx of people fleeing war are part of the reason behind the sleepout. Shea Hogan, spokesperson with Belvedere College said they still have to find out the final amount of money raised. We still have more to count, but through street collection and online donations, that's the total amount we've raised so far.
