more-inA class nine student has suffered a head injury after the headmaster of a government school in south Bengaluru allegedly hit him with a serving spoon on Thursday. “The report submitted by the jurisdictional Block Education Officer, which has statements from the student, clearly states that he had been subjected to corporal punishment,” said B.H. He added that the parents reportedly were upset that their son did not get timely medical help, which they claim aggravated his condition. Mr. Gowda said that the report indicates a ‘gross’ mistake on the part of the headmaster and confirmed that the child was suffering from a head injury. Sources said that the student was hospitalised and underwent several medical examinations on Friday.
