NEWARK, N.J. — The question a lot of Canadiens fans might have had after Monday’s 3 p.m. NHL trade deadline passed was: Who is Jordan Weal? Another question might have been: Is general manager Marc Bergevin an idiot? The Canadiens GM made only one move on Monday, acquiring forward Weal from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for forward Michael Chaput, who was playing for the AHL’s Laval Rocket. Bergevin said he didn’t believe the power-play would be fixed by one player acquired at the trade deadline, adding it needs to work better as a group. I asked Bergevin if when he woke up Monday morning he was expecting to accomplish more by the trade deadline.
