WorkSafe is making "initial inquiries" after a strut reportedly fell from a crane onto a neighbouring building in Auckland's CBD. The "huge" strut fell from the 17-storey The International and landed on private members club, The Northern Club, according to a tweet by Waitematā Local Board member Graeme Gunthorp. A WorkSafe spokeswoman confirmed it had been notified of an incident involving a crane in the city centre on Wednesday morning. Auckland Council, Dominion Constructors, Gunthorp and New Zealand Sotheby's International Realty have been contacted for comment.
