Although on the evidence of this win over the Waratahs, the Hurricanes can feel confident of their chances of beating anyone, anywhere. The Waratahs threatened throughout the final 20 minutes and every time they did, a desperate Hurricane arrived to thwart them. The centre tweaked a hamstring in the warm-up in Sydney and lasted just 25 minutes of the match. At this stage it appears they could be off to play a quarterfinal against the Stormers in Cape Town. The Hurricanes now meet the Crusaders in Christchurch, in the final round robin game of their season.
