KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Water Department has lodged a police report over several "unusual" incidents in which their assets were broken around the city, causing disruptions in water supply to thousands over the weekend. Department director Amarjit Singh said they had received complaints of burst pipes among other matters. He said the first burst pipe complaint was on Saturday along Jalan Sulaman, where hundreds of residents at the nearby Kingfisher area was affected. Later on Sunday night, they again received reports from people saying areas such as Luyang had no water supply. Regarding the termination of the contracts, Amarjit said the 1,335 workers affected did not have to worry as they would all be re-employed by the Water Department.
