Officials and civic rights activists observed this—at a discussion held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner—in observance of the World Consumer Rights Day 2019, in Rangpur city on Friday. The district administration, Department of National Consumer Rights Protection, and Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) jointly chalked out programs in observance of the day. Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Joynul Bari attended the discussion as the chief guest, while Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib chaired the event. President of the Rangpur unit of CAB Abdur Rahman and its General Secretary Ahsanul Haque Tuhin also spoke on the occasion. Assistant Director of the Department of National Consumer Rights Protection for Rangpur Afsana Parvin discussed various aspects of the CRP Act 2009 and Safe Food Act 2013, plus steps the government has taken to strictly enforce the laws.
