The Viking Sky lost power and started drifting Saturday afternoon in perilous waters two kilometers (1.2 miles) off More og Romsdal, prompting the captain to send out a distress call. The Viking Sky was heading for the port of Molde, and expected to arrive during the afternoon. Operated by the Norwegian firm Viking Ocean Cruises, the Viking Sky was launched in 2017 with a capacity of 930 passengers plus crew.
