more-inDINDIGULA straw-laden lorry was completely gutted in an accidental fire at Ammayanaickanur near here on Friday. The fire broke out when the straw loaded on to the lorry came in contact with a live wire passing across the road near a private farm at Amali Nagar in Ammayanaickanur. The lorry was carrying the load to a cashew grove at Amali Nagar from Kuruvithurai near Madurai. Driver P. Kasinathan of Dhamodharapatti near Mannadimangalam in Madurai district stopped the lorry immediately and sought help from the public to extinguish the fire. Three fire tenders from Dindigul, Nilakottai and Athoor rushed to the spot and struggled for three hours to put out the flames.
