Christchurch-based friend Audrey Ross, who met Miss Sloan in Oamaru 15 years ago, set up the Givealittle page to help bring Miss Sloan home. Initially, she was fundraising to help bring Miss Sloan and her two cats Murphy and Maisy home as soon as possible. Mrs Ross said she had a long tearful conversation with Miss Sloan’s mother, Barbara, on Sunday.
