York isn’t the only school board using Edsby. According to the local school board, other “boards in Ontario as well as private schools, governments and organizations internationally” also use it. On Feb. 13, the York board told parents that the “vulnerability” that allowed access to student profiles through Edsby has been fixed. His initial thought was that the school board was being “impersonated” but it turned out to be Edsby. “For the next months, I was in a conversation with the school board,” he said.
