The headline story, We want condoms, say teens (DN, April 18), seems to have misquoted and misrepresented facts in an attempt at mainstreaming an opinion that is not mainstream. The cited study has responses from only 2,484 youngsters aged 15 to 17. And the three aren’t exactly beacons in the fight against HIV, STIs and unwanted pregnancies. That line in the blurb, “some... are already having sex anyway, so, abstinence is a moot point”, says more than it can defend. How can the fact that a wrong thing is being done make it right?
