IPOH: The fury of Mother Nature was again felt here and this time, the famed Ipoh Tree was not spared by the strong winds. The tree has been a popular spot with tourists at the square in front of the 100-year-old Ipoh Railway Station. But on Friday evening, people had flocked to the square to see the last of the tree that was uprooted by the storm. It was the tree - antiaris toxicaria which the locals called Pokok Ipoh - that gave this city its name. Trees were also reported to have fallen in other parts of Ipoh due to the storm.
