Storm to potentially slow the start of fire season in parts of the Bay Area. How much rain could we get?

“It’s beneficial rain, especially for the North Bay. We’re expecting a quarter inch — that’s enough to slow the peak fire season down in that area,” said Ryan Walbrun, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Weather forecasters said there was a very limited chance of rain in much of the East and South Bays. Still decent odds for a wetting rain across the North Bay this weekend. Extreme drought has spread to the North Coast, and all nine Bay Area counties are currently in a severe drought.
