Heavy rain and high winds in coastal Santa Cruz County prompted evacuation orders, with officials warning of the increased potential for debris flows in the San Lorenzo Valley and Santa Cruz Mountains. “These thresholds, we’re going to meet them,” Santa Cruz County Chief Deputy Chris Clark said at a news conference Monday.
