A yellow weather warning for winds has now been extended to cover most of the UK. Storm Erik will continue to move from west to east through Saturday morning to rage across Wales, the Midlands and most of Yorkshire. "A swathe of very strong westerly winds is expected to move east through Saturday morning, easing from the west during the day," a Met Office forecaster said. The latest weather warning is in place until at least 3pm on Saturday. A separate yellow weather warning is in place for rain until 3pm tomorrow in Central, Tayside and Fife, Grampian, Highlands and Eilean Star and Strathclyde.
