Storm Debi: Oldham to be hit by heavy rain and strong winds

The Met Office has issued two amber warnings for strong winds in parts of Northern Ireland and the North West of England today (Monday). The Met Office warns injuries and danger to life from flying debris could be possible as well as some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs. As for Oldham, the Met Office predicts the borough will be affected by heavy showers from 8am through to 10am. Matthew Lehnert, a Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office, said: “Storm Debi has developed rapidly overnight and will bring impacts across parts of the UK today.
