The death of two grandmothers to cancer prompted Invercargill woman Carolyn Nicoll to write a book featuring survivors of breast cancer. The stories of the 25 breast cancer survivors, including one man, are told in their own words and a common theme emerged, she said. She made contact with the breast cancer survivors through different agencies, with the survivors happy to tell their stories because they wanted people to know what they went through. Others associated with breast cancer also feature in the book, including a breast cancer surgeon.
