A Mt Kenya group has censured the region’s politicians for the latest meetings, terming them a mockery of the poor electorate. The Mount Kenya Group dismissed the meetings as self-centred and accused the politicians of pursuing a selfish agenda on the guise of ‘discussing the region’s development'. "They are using Mt Kenya region for their individual benefits. Wanjiku Gitaka said all Mt Kenya people want are better prices for their tea, coffee and milk and the revival of businesses ruined by Covid-19. The residents want MPs to shelve their political ambitions and put the interest of Mt Kenya residents first.
