CLIMATE CHANGEAnd almost everyone, including political leaders, have condemned climate change for the floods. The Nairobi County government, for instance, announced that it would set aside Sh194 million to deal with the dreadful flooding in the city. Lack of accountability, political neglect and poor urban planning have resulted in this unpalatable situation. But, for political convenience, climate change becomes the scapegoat. It is the time the right policies were implemented to control floods and stop blaming climate change.
