They give us DC United, Atlanta United, New York City FC, Toronto FC, FC Dallas, Orlando City and Sporting KC. Minnesota United FC has embraced an informal nickname, the Loons, but has a farcical, official name that includes both United and FC. No other American league would allow United vs. United, FC vs. FC, time and again. American fans are not UK wannabes – although you would never know it, from the preponderance of British commentators on our airwaves. American soccer league officials need to do something soon, before the next wave of expansion teams arrives again in United-FC fashion.
