While its assets were around $11.3 million, its liabilities topped $48.3 million, with almost $10 million owed to creditors. The AAF didn't have chance. Neither did the World Football League, which lasted three seasons in the mid-1970s, and the same went for the United States Football League, which folded after four seasons in the mid-1980s. We've also had the United Football League for a hot minute, and the XFL started, then collapsed and now claims it's coming back. Who knows what's happening these days with the American Flag Football League or Pacific Pro Football or the Indoor Football League?
