A 26-year-old Whitby man is in custody after a stolen vehicle rammed into two police cruisers on Highway 401 in Oshawa Thursday afternoon. Kerry Schmidt said the two police vehicles were in position to make a traffic stop of a stolen vehicle on Hwy. I don’t know exactly how it all transpired,” Schmidt said. Two police vehicles and MTO construction vehicles were damaged as a result of the collision. After colliding with the OPP cruisers, the vehicle being driven by the suspect lost control and went over a hillside into a nearby parking lot, where it struck two other parked vehicles.
