Local shares extended their losses for a third straight day on Thursday on fresh worries over a resurgence of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections overseas and renewed profit taking. Local shares also took cues from the selloff in US markets, according to the analyst. Wall Street tumbled overnight, with the Dow Jones, S&P 500 and Nasdaq falling by 3.43 percent, 3.53 percent and 3.73 percent, respectively. Total volume turnover was at 3.4 billion shares, valued at P6.7 billion. Losers led gainers, 147 to 58, while 52 securities were unchanged.
