Investors are hoping the strengthening economy, plus a delay in Federal Reserve rate increases, will drive stocks higher in the coming weeks. KEEPING SCORE: The Dow Jones industrial average slipped 14 points, or 0.1 percent, to 18,334 at 12:07 p.m. Eastern time. OIL: Benchmark U.S. crude fell $1.74 to $45.06 per barrel in New York while Brent crude, a standard for international oil prices, lost $2.09 to $46.38 a barrel in London. The Standard & Poor’s 500 fell 3 points, or 0.2 percent, to 2,149.
