The Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled Thursday, as weak economic data and a rare sales warning from Apple sparked new worries about a global slowdown. The blue-chip index plunged 600 points, or 2.6%, to 22748. The S&P 500 fell 2.1% and the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite shed 2.5%. The Dow industrials and S&P 500 are currently down 2.7% and 2.1%, respectively, in 2019, their worst start to a year since 2000.
