The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) inched up by just 0.01 percent or 1.21 points to finish at 8,008.67. The wider All Shares gained 0.23 percent or 10.97 points to end at 4,809. “The only thing that kept our market above 8,000 is the continuous inflow of foreign funds with more than P900-million net foreign buying,” he added. The PSEi’s close contrasted with declines elsewhere in Asia, attributed to profit-taking and renewed worries over the progress of US-China trade talks.
