Odsonne Edouard had opened the scoring for the hosts before Rangers' task was made even harder when Alfredo Morelos was sent off. The Colombian lashed out at Brown after a clash off the ball and was shown a red card for the fifth time this season. Ryan Kent levelled the scores for Rangers and the Liverpool loanee was also involved in a bust-up with Brown after James Forrest's winner. Rangers boss Gerrard said: "You're playing against a player who loves to antagonise. Brown insisted the referee was left with little alternative but to send the striker off but played down his clash with Kent.
