The Boxing Day Test was the opening match of the series and it was going to be highly competitive. Even though I had an idea I would be playing, it was still a lovely feeling when the captain gave the nod, as Alastair Cook did that Christmas Day. There was no bursting into tears in the toilets, just a calm, enjoyable Christmas on the seafront in Durban. Christmas on tour really does become like another Test week. It just so happens it is Christmas Day, too.
