Showtime has given a ten-episode order to an untitled animated series centered around President Trump’s White House, executive produced by Stephen Colbert. The series is inspired by the animated opening sequence of Colbert’s Emmy-nominated Showtime special, Stephen Colbert’s Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Final: Who’s Going To Clean Up This Sh*t? The animated series will take things a step further by caricaturing Trump’s family, his staff, and the man himself as they attempt to navigate the White House. It’ll be interesting to see how the series plays out, as today’s White House is becoming increasingly difficult to parody. The animated short that depicts Trump as humiliated and vengeful after the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner is a narrative believed and pushed by many.
